Jennifer R. Ellis (D.M.A. University of Michigan, M.M. Cleveland Institute of Music, B.M. Oberlin) is a versatile harpist with over a decade of experience playing private events in venues such as the historic Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island and for clients ranging from the Cleveland Clinic to the University of Michigan. She has developed a wide variety of repertoire including exquisite classical solos, jazzy arrangements from the Great American Songbook, nostalgic songs from musicals, and well-known popular music. Committed to new music, she has performed over 80 premiers. She appears on diverse recordings including Sumkali's Dha Re Dha (American Indian Fusion), Steve Horowitz's Entertainment Tonight (new music), and Launch (harp and saxophone duets). Stephanie is an experienced professional harpist who performs regularly at weddings, receptions, parties, dinners and special occasions. She has played professionally throughout the San Francisco Bay Area since 1996, and is the resident harpist of the San Jose Wind Symphony. Stephanie's repertoire includes a wide selection of classical, popular and folk music, and she is happy to accept special requests. She enjoys helping her clients personalize their events, and has many examples of programs to provide ideas and inspiration.
